嘉義市近期挖掘到不少文化資產，2024年的[轉車台](https://www.cna.com.tw/news/acul/202402290262.aspx?ref=taitokchi.com)、2025年的[舊車站](https://taitokchi.com/tok-news-2026-8-11/)、2026的[鐵道機關庫](https://news.pts.org.tw/article/803941?ref=taitokchi.com)。近期，[東門圓環](https://tcmb.culture.tw/zh-tw/detail?indexCode=Culture%5FObject&id=251484&ref=taitokchi.com)改善工程施工，也被民眾發現疑似[清國時期的遺跡](https://udn.com/news/story/7266/9686188?ref=taitokchi.com)。由於改地鄰近諸[羅山東門城故址](https://openmuseum.tw/muse/digi%5Fobject/56e13b17178401060dda5bb3f2199c87?ref=taitokchi.com)，已立即向市文化局通報。目前停工、下週一文資委員將前往現勘。

歷經木柵、刺竹、到築土為牆、改建磚石城。清國時期[諸羅城東門](https://www.eastdoor.com.tw/castle/cyeastdoor.htm?ref=taitokchi.com)見證了18至19世紀的改變。東門城樓最早在1727年（清雍正5年）建造，命名為[襟山門](https://vocus.cc/article/5a421943eceaedd6be91a5c7?ref=taitokchi.com)、後改為迎春門。直到20世紀初日本政府執行[市區改正](https://tcmb.culture.tw/zh-tw/detail?indexCode=Culture%5FObject&id=251618&ref=taitokchi.com)前仍然存在，後改為噴水池、圓環。
