文化部長李遠在記者會強調公廣的重要性。

不過各位是否了解甚麼是「[公共媒體](https://mcr.nccu.edu.tw/web/backissues/download%5Ffile.jsp?pp%5Fno=1091&ref=taitokchi.com)」呢？這樣的服務性質，與一般追求收視率或商業廣告利潤的電視台走不同的路線。初衷，是為了服務不同語言、不同年齡的族群，並發揚社會的多元文化。

公廣集團下有[公視](https://www.pts.org.tw/?ref=taitokchi.com)、[公視台語台](https://www.taigitv.org.tw/?ref=taitokchi.com)、[原民台](https://www.ipcf.org.tw/zh-TW/Vod/Home?ref=taitokchi.com)、[客家電視台](https://www.hakkatv.org.tw/?ref=taitokchi.com)⋯⋯等，是難得可貴由政府出資、全民共創的重要媒體。在日本有 NHK、英國有 BBC、美國有 [PBS](http://www.tjctaiwan.org/viewArticle.asp?P%5FNo=41&CA%5FID=336&ref=taitokchi.com)、NPR⋯⋯，多數是以非營利的形式運營。

既然是拿人民的納稅錢來做，就勢必嚴謹地達成多元、平等、公義的方式來執行業務。也因此時常成為政壇朝野對峙、預算審查的對象之一。像是年初立法院便刪減、凍結[公視](https://www.nownews.com/news/6853278?ref=taitokchi.com)及 TaiwanPlus 共[2.43億](https://www.thenewslens.com/article/248150?ref=taitokchi.com)的預算。

TaiwanPlus 於帛琉、馬紹爾群島正式開播。
